United’s victory was a major boost and they now look set for another spectacular Premier League treble. Despite some early wobbles in the first half, Manchester United remained in control with David De Gea never tested.
While Newcastle have been a constant threat to the top clubs this season, they will have high hopes that today they can finally end their 68-year wait for a trophy. Eddie Howe’s side have shown great improvement under his guidance this term but were unable to break through United’s strong defense.
Keane was in a celebratory mood

Fans of the club were in for a treat as their team won their first trophy since 2012. Following the game, Ten Hag was seen in an upbeat mood and even joined Antony and Lisandro Martinez for some dancing.
He has certainly turned things around at Old Trafford and gained the admiration of many. After saving United from last season’s doldrums, they have now won 12 straight games across all competitions.
Keane was in a good spirit after their victory on Sunday and joked with Ten Hag to “resign.” The former captain also expressed that he hoped this marked the start of a new era for Manchester United.
Keane recently lashed out at Brazil’s players for their choreographed dance celebrations during the World Cup. He likened their moves to those featured on Strictly Come Dancing.

Ten Hag defended his post-match dancing
After United’s stunning Carabao Cup win against Newcastle, players and fans were in jubilation. Even Ten Hag got in on the fun, joining Antony and Lisandro Martinez for some celebratory dancing on the pitch after the match.
The 52-year-old Dutchman is a student of Johan Cruyff and often employs a 4-3-3 formation similar to Cruyff’s at Barcelona. Additionally, he draws inspiration from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola who is known for playing fast football with plenty of passing.
Ten Hag has had a relatively brief coaching career, but has made an impactful mark in league competitions. His first head coaching role came with Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles who finished sixth during his debut campaign before earning promotion to the Eredivisie.
Keane’s response
As the match continued, Roy Keane made a joke about Erik Ten Hag’s post-match dancing. The former United captain quipped that it was something he would never do himself.
Sky Sports viewers who watched the match had an amusing moment when Ten Hag joined players Antony and Lisandro Martinez for a celebratory dance.
Before joining Manchester United in 2017, they enjoyed a successful period at Ajax. Their signature dance – which they revived from Holland – has certainly caught the attention of supporters.
However, the Dutchman has come to defend his decision to join Manchester United, saying it was done in an effort to bring back some joy from their time at Ajax.
Brazil have faced criticism for their pre-planned celebrations at the World Cup, with Keane labelling them ‘a show of disrespect’ to his opponents. But Brazil coach Tite dismissed any such comments and encouraged his players to do their best.
